Textile Design Intern for Cat & Jack, Summer 2017
Apparel and Accessories, Product Design and Development, Target Corporation
There are several problems that my intern project was trying to address:
1. Guests are expecting more from brands in terms of social and environmental responsibility.
2. Parents are worried about the chemicals used in apparel production touching their children’s skin.
3. Gender stereotypes are being challenged and there is an opportunity for improvement in unisex clothing.
In order to address these issues, I began with researching sustainability and forming recommendations on how to make apparel at Target more sustainable. Then, I designed a collection of sustainable unisex clothing for Cat & Jack that would span infant, toddler, and big kid for fall/winter 2018.
